The Berber Story

Berbers are the native people of Northern Africa. Our restaurant and venue are inspired by the nomadic, colorful and beautiful Berber people who are known for their generosity, liveliness, and hospitable culture.

Our brand is inspired by the Berber symbol, yaz, which symbolizes free people.

Berber SF is for those seeking a new and sociable drinking/dining experience.

Berber's menu; designed exclusively for Berber by our Executive Chef, is a innovative, confluence of North African and Mediterranean cuisine. Using farm to table California ingredients and exotic spices  Chef has captured the essence of flavors stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea.

Berber’s signature cocktails, created by Saul Ranella, are eccentric and crafted with fresh ingredients and spices. Our cocktails are curated to partner seamlessly with our menus.

Berber Restaurant and Spice Bar was conceptualized by Tony Garnicki and Borhen Hammami
to bring a chic dining experience to San Francisco's Russian Hill district.

The Space

Opening the front door at Berber is stepping into a warm and welcoming atmosphere that is adorned with beautiful earthy elements.
Elegant carpets and textiles, wicker Morocccan lanterns, encaves of candlelights and transformation sounds are just a few of the moments that will capture your attention.
Berber's interior, reminiscent of the colors, scents and flavors of Marrakech was designed to awaken your senses and our nigthly performances are curated to delight your soul. 

All elements of Berber have been created by artisans and inspired by
North Africa, Europe and the heartbeat of the Berber people.
